NxTAG COV EXPANDED PANEL AT ACCU REFERENCE
To address the recent outbreak of Coronavirus, ACCU Reference Medical Laboratory has partnered with Luminex to offer their unique, multiplex assay, using bead-based NxTAG technology. This assay includes the gene target for SARS-CoV-2, and has been validated following FDA guidelines under the Emergency Use Authorization (EUA).

Using this platform, ACCU Reference has the uniqueability to offer thousands of this assay, every month, as well as our current FDA IVD respiratory panels. Physicians can now automatically reflex negative respiratory panels to the SARS-CoV-2 panel, without the need to acquire new patient samples, which results in a quick turnaround time.

CRITERIA TO ORDER TESTING FOR COVID-19
Using their judgment, clinicians can test symptomatic patients for COVID-19. Decisions should be based on the recommendations of the CDC. Most patients with confirmed COVID-19 have developed fever and/or symptoms of acute respiratory illness (e.g. cough, difficulty breathing). Clinicians are strongly encouraged to test for other causes of respiratory illnesses, such as influenza and strep.

Epidemiologic factors that may help guide decision on whether to test include: any person, including healthcare workers, who have had close contact with a laboratory confirmed COVID-19 patient, within 14 days of symptom onset, or a history of travel from affected geographic areas, within 14 days of symptom onset.
